West End Gallery is a second-generation business of a family trade dating back to 1967. Owner Christopher James worked during his adolescence in his father’s New York gallery, Garden City Galleries. While pursuing higher education and other employment interests, Christopher continued to work for his father as well as other framing businesses to pool the creative talents of the area. Learning a wide variety of framing techniques, and creating some of his own, Christopher decided to open his own Gallery.

After considering many locations in the Northeast, the opportunity to open a fine art gallery presented itself in the West End of Richmond.

"The area needed a fine art gallery, with an eclectic collection of talented artists as well as a full production frame shop. I am glad to be providing Richmond with just such fine art and quality framing"

Prior to the gallery’s grand opening in the Fall of 2001, extensive construction was completed to allow for the perfect gallery/frame shop. The front gallery displays over 120 framed pieces, and concealed in the back is an efficient state-of-the-art frame shop. A truly unique business in Richmond.

We hope to see you in the gallery soon,
and look forward to serving your fine art and custom framing needs!
