West End Gallery is a second-generation business of a family trade dating back to 1967. West End Gallery's owner, Chris James, began working in his father's gallery in 1987, twenty years after his father opened his gallery. There
he learned to frame everything from fine original oil paintings to limited editions, even framing Emmy nomination letters and other rare pieces for national celebrities who lived nearby.

In 2001 Chris decided to expand the family business down to Richmond, Virginia beginning in a boutique space in the center of the West End.

After 10 successful years, the business expanded and moved to a new, much larger location in Short Pump .

West End Gallery is a well balanced business, focusing as equally on its fine art as well as its custom framing.

"Richmond has a sophisticated population with a wide variety of decorating tastes. We have customers looking for art in every style imaginable, and we carry some of the most talented artists in the world. Similarly, customers looking for custom framing will find that we offer everything from the basics and budget friendly to the most well crafted frames, including hand-carved options with real 22k gold guilding. We want everyone who comes in to find a perfect frame, in all spectrums of budget."
