D'ALESSANDRO Daughter of an Italian diplomat, D'Alessandro was born in Rome in 1943. When asked what inspires her paintings she replied, "Growing up in Italy I was surrounded by ports with beautiful beautiful boats constantly coming and going. My father and I would often go down to the harbors to look at all the different boats there, it was at that time that I developed my love of boats, and wanted to capture their beauty on canvas.
