Christopher Mize, a self-taught artist who has been painting primarily in oils since childhood, offers charming wine-inspired artwork for wine-lovers and enthusiasts.

"I have never spoken of my art in a complicated way. I am not an individual who believes in the power of complexity. Simplicity has a power all its own and that power I find in creating paintings with intense color and heavy texture. Representational art these days seems to lean toward the photorealistic. I have turned my back on the flat, technically perfect method of painting. I see it as devoid of expression and feeling. I choose to explore the effects that can be created with the plastic qualities of oil paint. I use a loaded and expressive brushstroke."

Christopher's giclee reproductions on canvas are often hard to tell from his originals because of the immense amount of hand-embellishing he applies to each and every of this pieces. This ensures that each giclee is unique from one another. Each of his giclees are numbered on the back of the piece because of the significant embellishing to each piece.
